Dear Center Grove Youth Baseball Families,
As we prepare for another exciting season of baseball, we want to take a moment to thank you for being part of the CGYB community. Our success as one of the top youth baseball programs in the state is made possible by the dedication of our players, families, and volunteers — and by the incredible facilities we’re fortunate to call home.
Registration for the upcoming recreational season is now open at www.cgyouthbaseball.com, and we’re excited to share that we are also introducing a new Senior Division for 9th–12th grade players, expanding opportunities for older athletes to continue developing their skills and love of the game within CGYB.
*We’ve had a waitlist every year, so don’t wait to secure your spot! Registration for our older divisions will close at the end of February.*
New Fundraising Requirement
Maintaining the quality of Ray Skillman Park, fields, and equipment to remain the best in the state comes with rising costs each year. Field maintenance, lighting, turf care, and equipment upgrades have all increased significantly. While we work hard to keep player registration fees as affordable as possible, we also need to ensure that our facilities and programs remain top-notch for every athlete.
To help manage these rising expenses without dramatically increasing participation fees, we are introducing an updated fundraising program for the upcoming season.
This year, each family will pay a required $100 fundraising fee at the time of registration, which covers five (5) CGYB Discount Cards. This fee will appear as a separate line item during registration, and discount cards will be distributed at player evaluations.
Each card sells for $20 and offers valuable savings at dozens of local restaurants and businesses. Because the fundraising fee is paid upfront, families keep all money they earn from selling their five required cards—allowing them to earn back the full $100. When all five cards are sold, there is no increase in overall costs compared to previous years.
The value of the discounts far exceeds the purchase price, making these cards easy to sell and beneficial for both our families and the local community.
Some of the merchants on the card include: Taxman, Pizza and Libations, Ella’s, Jiffy Lube, Rascal’s, Tried and True, Domino’s, The Stretch Lab, Greek’s Pizzeria, Sports Clips, Aspen Creek Grill, with numerous others to be added.
This new approach allows us to keep our registration fees stable and continue to invest in the facilities, programs, and experiences that make Ray Skillman Park one of the top baseball facilities in our area—while also giving families the ability to completely offset any increase in expenses by selling their allotted cards.
Investments we have made to the park over the past 5 years:
-
New lighting on multiple diamonds
-
Turf on 7/9 pitching and hitting areas on fields
-

-

-

With gratitude,
The CGYB Board of Directors
